Urban
– Urban Transit
For
this particular sector of Local Transport Authorities we have
developed a concept of economic modelling when investing in Automated
Transit Systems such as PRT, GRT, and Guided Vehicle or Monorail
technology. These in-house tools allow us to undertake modal comparison
in terms of speed and passenger volumes. These tools known as
CAL-PLAN also allow us to prepare a demand and a cost model of
the network.
This
work on Guided People Movers, Driverless Guided public Transport,
Road based People Movers, Elevated Public Transport can offer
Authorities alternate technologies to Light Rail and Guided Bus
transit modes.
We
are now offering a new service based on the development of a Mass
Rapid Transit tool - CAL-PLAN MRT Toolkit. This service looks
at capacity modelling of BRT/GRT/Tram and MonoRail for arterial
corridors into urban centres. Outputs from the tool provide indications
of potential limitations within the corridor, impact on congestion
when routing GRT across traffic light Intersections and levels
of investment that would be needed. Comparisons can be modelled
for a variety of differing vehicle sizes and configurations.
Urban
– Monorail Networks
Within
our project on Rapid Transit World Review, this included a study
on the installation base of “Elevated Public Transport” and potential
take up opportunities of Monorail in urban environments. For organisations
wishing to gain further share in such markets we can assist with
comparative transit methods and capacity modelling.
Urban
– Personal and Group Rapid Transit
As
a result of the work in our Rapid Transit World Review, this allowed
us to document all forms of Personal Rapid Transit and Group Rapid
Transit systems being developed worldwide. We are monitoring this
technology as a potential viable alternate transit mode. We are
working with Simulation partners to undertake “Proof of Concept”
of such systems which can be shown to Local Transport Authorities.
